◈ESCUCHA CONSCIENTE◈ La Mañana (Peer Gynt Suite N.1 - Edvard Grieg)
LEER LA DESCRIPCIÓN ▼ ▽▼ ▽▼ ▽▼ ▽▼ ▽▼ Hola Hola ¿Que tal? The Treble Clef
The clefs in music allow us to read all the different pitches of note. This video is about the treble clef which is mainly for high pitched instruments. The treble clef is also known as the G-clef. This is because it started its life as a lowercase g circling the g line, just above middle C. There was also a d-clef around as well which showed the d line, although not used or even talked about much today. I think knowing it existed helps explain why the treble clef looks like it does now. Now we can see our modern clef, we already know where the G & D lines are. The other lines are E, B & F. These lines can be remembered in many different ways, such as. Every Green Bus Drive Fast Every Granny Buys Dead Frogs Elephants Go Bouncing Down Freeways The most popular way to remember the spaces is that: SPACES spell FACE You can then follow the notes higher continuing the musical alphabet of A-G. After the top F is a G on top of the stave, followed by an A on the first ledger-line. Going lower we have a Dangling D, and then the middle C which we mentioned earlier. If we go much lower than this, then were into the realms of the Bass Clef, with is the topic for another video. Thanks for watching

Class Notes: Color In Music - 'Ballade,' by Germaine Tailleferre
French composer Germaine Tailleferre (1892-1983) was the only female member of "Les Six," a group of composers who worked together in Paris. Her works are distinguished by their use of color--or timbre, as it is known in music--as well as their beauty and unconcealed emotion. This video introduces young students to the concept of timbre through Tailleferre's work Ballade.
